He looked away again, nervously placing his hand on the back of his neck. He exhaled and spoke into his chest, “I slept with her.”
She took a deep breath, shook her head and stood up, walking dazedly into the other room. He watched her go, deciding whether or not to give her space. He put his head in his hands and closed his eyes, tightly. There was a loud thud, followed by a louder crash and the sound of shattering glass. He stood and rushed into the room. She was in the process of throwing a pillow into the window blinds when he walked in.
